Animation After Effects
Inspired by stories from young people in Bankstown, reflecting on their experiences and the places that hold meaning in their lives. Safa Al-Bekaa’s monologue “Bankstown Centro” deeply resonated with me, particularly as someone of Middle Eastern heritage.
The metaphor of Bankstown as an Arabian Mau—a misunderstood but deeply affectionate and loyal cat—was a beautiful way of expressing how places like these can be rough on the outside but full of warmth and love underneath.
